Some of my favorite memories in my entire life have taken place on the Oxford Square. My first memories as a child were spent enjoying long walks around the Square with my family, stopping to grab “chicken-on-a-stick”, and then heading to campus to watch the Ole Miss Band and cheerleaders practice. Returning as a student years later, I remembered this place exactly as I left it. The Square was my favorite spot to meet friends for lunch in between classes, enjoy coffee on the Square Books balcony, and eat dinner with friends and family. During my time as a student at Ole Miss, I was lucky enough to have a job on the Square that gave me the opportunity to meet Oxford locals, visitors, and Ole Miss students.
Whether it’s the Double Decker Music and Arts Festival, the Ole Miss Homecoming Parade, dinner with your roommate’s parents on a game weekend or just a night out, the Square is the epicenter of the entire Ole Miss experience. On your visit to campus, I encourage you to stop by the Square for a cup of coffee at Bottletree Bakery, do a little shopping in the unique boutiques, and grab some delicious southern comfort food from one of our many amazing restaurants.
