Kelly Slater

Admissions Counselor

The first time that I set foot on campus, I was awestruck by its beauty of the sense of family that I instantly felt. While I didn’t discover the Bryant Hall on my initial visit, it came to be one of my favorite spots on campus to study. In the center of its lobby is a large globe that measures 6 feet in diameter. It’s easy to overlook, but the globe actually rotates very slowly, mimicking the Earth’s rotation.

Over my time at Ole Miss, seeing this globe made me think about both the impact that the world has on Ole Miss and the impact that Ole Miss has on the world. Ole Miss is a very diverse family made up of students from every county in Mississippi, every state in the United States, and over 90 countries around the world. Each person brings with them and contributes their own unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. This diversity makes us stronger as a university and allows us to continue making advances across all of our various disciplines. In addition, our students continue to take what they learn at Ole Miss and have a positive global impact.

I’m excited to help students from Georgia and South Carolina learn how they can become a part of our Ole Miss family and how the university will help them make their own impact on the world.
