As a first generation student, I was placed under a lot of pressure to lead my younger siblings and relatives to academic success. Overwhelmed with school and maintaining a social life, I would often visit the Circle on campus where I’d find peace. From the Circle, I would glance upon the Lyceum, which demonstrated strength to me through the history that the columns on the building endured. I regained both my strength and peace in this very spot. This part of campus will continue to be my place of peace and strength as I prevail through my continued success at this institution.
