During my first year at Ole Miss, I spent most of my down-time perched on the back side of the J.D. Williams Library. While there, I would study between classes and FaceTime my old friends from community college for extra support. As a transfer student, adjusting to a four-year institution seemed overwhelming. I was not sure if I would be able to build close friendships or be as involved as I had been at my community college. In less than a year, I gained many dear friends and became an Orientation Leader for Ole Miss. As an OL, I was able to introduce incoming students (freshmen and transfers) to the University and help make their transition as easy as possible. I always brought my students to the back side of the J.D. Williams Library to point out the spot where I started my journey. The University of Mississippi provided me with so many opportunities and friendships, and I am excited to help transfer students find what they are looking for at Ole Miss.
