I grew up in a family that loved baseball.  My dad played from the time he was old enough to swing a bat up until college, and he instilled the love of the game in me. I spent many nights at a ball field watching our local double-A team or the youth recreational team my brother played on while I was growing up.  The love of the game only continued to grow the older that I became.

As a student at Ole Miss, I spent a lot of time at Swayze Field.  My favorite times of the year were always the first few games of the season in what we consider “winter” in Mississippi.  Those days don’t last though, and neither does your time here on campus.  I love that as the regular season begins to come to a close, so does spring semester, and before you know it graduation and the SEC tournament are right around the corner.

Although I made a lot of great memories with friends while watching baseball games at Swayze Field,  it was way more to me than just that. It was about being a part of a family tradition that began many years ago when my dad started playing ball, and continues on every time I come back to watch the Rebels play.
