One of the big selling points that attracted me to the University of Mississippi was the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. Being a freshman and feeling truly integrated into the tight knit academic community was incredible. Not only was I challenged academically, I was also pushed to get engaged in the Oxford-Lafayette Community and be a citizen-scholar. As a senior, I performed my own survey research to over 4,000 students on the Ole Miss campus, and I completed a thesis comparing millennial and older generation voting patterns during the 2016 primary and general election season. The Honors College opened the door to so many opportunities that I never could have imagined. It also holds a special place in my heart for introducing me to a love of learning and fostering so many relationships I still cherish today.
