The 10-acre green area in the heart of the Ole Miss campus known as “the Grove” is a charming space surrounded by ancient oaks, mysterious elms, and Mississippi magnolias. The Grove is also host on most fall Saturday afternoons to the best tailgating experience in college football.
Not only did the Grove play a major role in game days for me, but it was also a vital part of my experience during the off season. Whether enjoying time in a quaint location to read or study, watching a concert on the Grove Stage, or participating in commencement, the Grove helped shape my college experience at Ole Miss. During my undergraduate years, I was the Communications Intern for the Office of Sustainability, so keeping the Grove clean was an important role for me. The Green Grove Initiative aims to incorporate recycling into the game day experience by engaging and educating tailgaters in the Grove and Circle. The Grove is just one aspect of Ole Miss, yet it is definitely a place that should be on your bucket list.
